  What a beautiful, rocky, unusual place to hike in Illinois. The lodge is like something out of the 50's - and the only knock on this review is that the "Rustic" cabins are like something out of the 50's, too. Tvs with antennas and knob channel changers. It's a really great place for hiking, but maybe stay in one of the other rooms if you want one that's lady-bug-free in late February.

  You must drive along winding hilly roads to get to the lodge. Once at the lodge the is ample parking, with a few spots right in front of the entrance. The handicap ramps are a bit narrow, but serve their purpose. Restrooms are outside of the main dining area, so keep that in mind. The service was decent and the food good. Servers kept the food refills coming at an adequate pace, and were friendly. Gratuity was automatically added to our checks.
